Jonathan, although quite bright, would always joke about the most peculiar things; his black humour amusing no-one but himself. He dressed like a rat, what with all the bitsy leather and wool threaded with studs just wrapped around his body like bandages around a broken soul. Never would he seem to realise the disturbance he would cause. His presence was ghostly, but he doesn’t need to worry about that anymore.


The living room was lit with the nostalgic glow of the wall lamp. Drifting lazily about the room was the smell of an incense, warm and comforting. An old couch sat tiredly in the corner. In it’s broken happiness, it could only watch, bittersweetly, as the years went on their merry way.


At that moment, in the pure silence of my senses, I felt a numbing. Sweat trickled down my body like a serpent through sand. And as the choking hand of dread crept up the back of my throat, my mind was sapped of every sensation. All but one raw, animal instinct remained; run.


And slowly dieth...
