The young imperial was born to a family of warriors and a clan that had no use for the skills that the Earthshaker had granted him with at hatching. Though they treated him kindly, he often felt at odds with the ragtag band of dragons that all had a perfect little place in their home. Everyone else was a piece of the puzzle, everyone else had some kind of talent that perfectly met the needs of the clan.
There was no room for a piece like him. A dragon with Earth eyes in the barren land of the Shattered Plains, with an affinity for water? He took every chance he got to splash about in streams and puddles, not even fishing —just letting the smooth, cool water lap at his scales, especially after a long day of training to become the warrior his parents wanted him to be. Even worse, he had an eye-scorchingly bright body that stood out greatly against everything else. His parents always said they were proud of him, but he could feel the disappointment. It thickened the air, burdened his shoulders, until he couldn't take it anymore. Eventually, the imperial left his clan. He forced a fake smile, said he was going to go on adventures and live life happily, and then flew away. He never looked back at the his birth clan, never saw them wave good-bye and exchange sad glances. So then he journeyed alone, across Sorneith, with no true place to call home. He met many others and saw many new sights along the way. The adventure was exciting, but soon he became weary and tired. His legs ached and his tail dragged, but mostly he was aching inside. It was homesickness. The dragon was starting to miss the companionship of a clan. So he sought out a different clan, one that could benefit from his love of water, and now here he is. Though he's still worried about his odd taste for water as an Earth dragon, as well as self-conscious about his bright crystal scales —usually preferring to don a wolf cape to hide it— he's here to stay. He's found a loving, kind home in Sylvan Shadows, surrounded by dragons who truly and sincerely understand him. Maybe he'll have more adventures one day, but for now, this little clan is enough. Izzy is more than welcoming to him, and he feels like he belongs in with the misfits of this ragtag shadow clan. Now his days are filled with splashing around in the dark waters of shadow, not having to worry about the sun glimmering off of his scales causing other dragons to stare, as he teaches the members of his new clan how to swim and enjoy the water.
