She skipped forward, her plague-red eyes gleaming, the squall of their children filling the air of the hatchery, every thing about her shivvering with emotion.

She touched her nose to his, a fleeting kiss, a fleeting thank you, a fleeting farewell--

And then she spun on her heel, and dove through the water-door, and disappeared into the depths where he could not follow.

The Tidelord had called to her, though she hadn't been born to him, and she had accepted his offer.

Sansi has been exalted, and she had left him three hatchlings to take her place in his heart. They had known each other for so little time, and yet, as he watched the pool of water settle into place, he knew, he knew that he would never forget her.
