Ljosalfar

History

Ljosalfar, also known as Sal, has an incredibly patient disposition. He can handle the most unruly of hatchlings, the most upset mourners, the most enraged beast with a cool, calm demeanor. Everyone will come looking for Sal when a dragon has gone through a trauma in battle, or needs to be taken care of or encouraged after a serious injury, physical or psychological.
And so the day he found Cedric, he knew he had found his 'one'. Cedric was a timid beast, flightless and terrified of most everything that moved. Sal could move too quickly or burst into the den too enthusiastically, and Cedric would be gone, disappeared into the far reaches of the shadows. Sal found it incredibly sad to think that after all those years of abuse and neglect, even from his own family, he would have learned how to hide. His mottled hide could attest to that; the strange patterns and faded colour in his scales suggested that they were once more than the full grey shade they had become. Sal took Cedric in and taught him all he knew; how to defend himself, how to gather food and find the right herbs for a small cut or wound. Cedric was weak and emaciated when he first arrived, and Sal gathered every ounce of meat and supplement he could find for him. He continues to care for him in this way, ever building his strength.
It took Sal a very long time to get Cedric to look him in the eye. The dark dragon would always take the utmost care to avoid anyone's eyes, even when face to face and speaking to someone. And so, Sal worked and worked with him, getting him to face him, to speak to him instead of to the ground below. He asked him questions about his favorite things, what he liked best about warm summer days, or how he felt about a compliment someone had given him. Slowly but surely, Cedric gained enough confidence, and one day he lifted his eyes to Sal's. Sal was overjoyed, and he had embraced the young dragon. Much to his surprise, he didn't hesitate or shy away from the touch; in fact, he leaned into it, as if he had never felt anything finer.

Sal and Cedric spend almost every waking moment together. Without the other, each grow restless and rather irritating, always getting distracted from work or the task at hand.
The two Wildclaws share a den, share food and share duties. Sal continues to care for Cedric, and if he has it his way, he probably will for the rest of his days.

at least the two dragons thought they would always be together forever but one day while Sal and Cedric were out of their cave and having a good time together. A strange storm began to brew and Sal instantly knew this wasn't good whatever it was and nudged Cedric to run back to the cave. Cedric nodded and the two dragons ran as fast as they could but when Sal looked back at the storm he realized they weren't fast enough and the storm was already biting at their tails like a savage beast. Before Sal knew it he was sucked into the mysterious storm.

Sal awoke in an unfamiliar cave and glanced around the cave a little and realized Cedric wasn't there. He quickly went to get up but his entire body just screamed in agony and wouldn't move. He kept trying though he had to find Cedric no matter what. a white peal catcher then came over and told Sal that he was lucky to be alive. Sal didn't care about this though he only cared about one this and that was Cedric. "where's Cedric?" Sal almost said in a shout. The pearl catcher looked as if he wasn't sure what to say.
"don't tell me..." Sal began to say as a look of fear spread across his face
the pearl catcher shook his head "that can't be confirmed, we just found you laying out in the middle of no where ,but we'll do everything we can to find him and make sure he's okay."
"No i ne...." Sal had tried to get up again but his aching body stopped him. he then told the pearl catcher about Cedric and why it was so important that they find him.
the pearl catcher nodded and reassured Sal that they'll do what ever it takes to find him and that he shouldn't worry and just get some rest so his body can heal up.
even after the pearl catcher left he couldn't sleep all he could do was just lay there and wonder where Cedric was.

eventually Sal managed to fall asleep and his dreams were filled with strange scenes of him and Cedric. He awoke to the feeling of someone being near by. he glanced around the room and noticed a he noticed a dark colored dragon sneaking around. "Cedric?" Sal called out.
The dark colored dragon jumped about 5 feet from fright. "no no, I'm Farah, I just came to grab something, I'll be leaving now so you can go back to sleep." she said quickly and in a somewhat hard to understand voice and moved toward the entrance of the cave.
As the dragon walked by Sal could see the dragon was a pearlcatcher similar to the one that was around earlier just with much darker colors. "Wait..." Sal began to say and Farah turned to look at him. Sal then continued "please stay it's lonely here"
She nodded and the two talked for awhile and laughed. the pearl catchers smile was beautiful and even though Sal didn't feel happy at the moment he still felt a sense of happiness break through his emotions even if it was just a tiny bit.
Farah then bowed and said she had to go or else her big bro would get angry. the two said their good byes and as she was about to leave she turned around and went up to sal and tied a yellow bow around his wrist, and told him it was like a good luck charm and something to remind him to stay positive.

After what seemed like forever, Sal was finally free of his bandages. his body still wasn't fully recovered so pushing himself was a no go. but at least he felt more freedom then he had felt for awhile.
"Don't worry Cedric, it won't be long now" Sal thought as he looked toward the sky, determined to soon be reunited with his love.
