This Nocturne was another unusual entry to the Caravan. The rogue Longneck Elder, Gip, claimed sanctuary with the Caravan after refusing to destroy a nest of orphaned Dragon Eggs. The Warleader of the Raiding Party, already thinking the Magi were out of touch with reality, banished him and ordered him to be executed. Gip managed to rescue a single egg before the nest was destroyed and escaped into the wilds alone. He vowed to raise the orphaned egg as his own. The Nocturne egg hatched on the auspicious day that only comes every four years, the Day of Leaping revealing she had been born of the elemental earth alignment. The young Nocturne, following her Longneck 'father' never learned how to fly. Her wings trailed uselessly beside her and, while she could flap them, a muscular atrophy meant she could never beat them fast enough to get airborne. The way she would leap everywhere rather than fly led to her gaining the nickname of Leaper, something that stuck through to her adult years. By the time the pair reached Home Rock and claimed sanctuary there Leaper was much too attached to the Longneck Magi to live among dragons and the Magi was too attached to the young dragon to leave her. Christiana allowed the pair to officially join the lair. On the Journey to New Home Gip discovered that the Warleader who had tried to kill him had himself been killed by a dragon ambush and as such no record of his orders remained. To the Longneck tribes he was still a respected Magus. The Magi now claims his reputation as a seeker of knowledge as his reason for staying with the Caravan, citing he is training a dragon as a reason to stay, though he fears the newly acquired brutality of his people. Leaper is utterly loyal to him, saying it's her turn to protect her father from harm. The Nocturne is aware she is different from other dragons but doesn't feel like she has a place with the Beastclans either. For her father's peace of mind she swears she is going to create a lasting peace between dragonkind and the beastclans and doesn't take kindly to anyone saying her goal is impossible. An idealist with a strong sense of justice she doesn't get along well with other dragons and intimidates other Beastclans. However in their hearts most of the Caravan hopes she succeeds in her goals. |

Gip: Adopted Parent and Envoy to the Longnecks. The Longneck tribe are the most important of the Beastclans for the Caravan to be allied with. The natives of Dragonhome have skills and knowledge of the area that rivals the records of the Earth Flight. The elder Longneck is a skilled Magus who has enhanced his knowledge of the arcane arts from his time with dragonkind. He has raised Leaper from an egg and is counted as her father by the Caravan.
