His egg had been abandoned. No one knows why. Plague, after all, fights the undead... Maybe his parents knew what he would look like. Found by the very same slaver who sold Cherry (his guardian, another, far more lovely Imperial), Mangle hatched as....well. Mangle. His wings already tattered shreds, his scales marred by thick viscous red - and Something Else watched from the bones of his ruined wings. He was kept alive out of the slaver's fear - clearly he was growing Something inside of him, and his master didn’t want to anger whatever It was. But his life was spent in shadows, unable to see clearly, until the beautiful Imperial he remembered from his very first day returned… And actually bought him. Since that day - the day Cherry realized that an ugly life like Mangle’s was worth saving too - he lived in Shinwoo and Cherry’s debt. He adored Shinwoo, doting on his every word and observing the other, learning everything he has to teach. He become fast friends with Cherry, happy that someone so beautiful would care for someone like him. Over time, the fluid leaking from his own skin left him blind, and for days he was terrified that he would be left alone and helpless again. Cherry eventually coaxed him out of his stupor, and Mangle found - to both his horror and amazement - that he could see out of the eyes in his wings, better than he had ever seen before. Some confidence restored, he gladly let Cherry introduce him to life in the Cloudgrounds properly. Several months into his new found sight and his healer training, the old alchemist Prion joined the clan. Her predatory sight on Saori instantly made Mangle’s hackles rise with suspicion, and so he’s kept an eerie, unearthly eye on the Skydancer as often as he could spare it. ▬▬ ADDITIONAL ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
