Biography

Jade Mallard Beloved-of-Shadow can be dark and obsessive, though she is equally tender to those she allows close to her. Knowing herself destined to meet the Shadowbinder sooner rather than later practically from hatching, she is continually surprised that she has not yet been exalted. A deeply pious dragon, she dwells upon the deity of Shadow and how best to serve Her.

Hatchlings born to Persisting Shadow destined for exaltation are often called Shadow or Beloved of Shadow, after a vision of Natasza the seer. Jade has insisted upon keeping this name, but allowed herself to be called after the ducks that bring her such peace, and after a small carved fetish that is one of the few possessions she treasures.
