Catleen

Catleen is the daughter of Ever-Glade, the daughter of Verdanza, the daughter of Pela, the daughter of Plume, the daughter of Starling, the daughter of Aruni, the daughter of Law, the daughter of Rose, the daughter of Siria, the daughter of Meera, a Fae. Catleen's mother and grandmothers up to Starling are Wildclaws; Starling's parents are both Guardians. (Catleen's mother's father is a Coatl, and his mother is a Coatl, but her mother, Moss, is again a Wildclaw; Moss's parents are both Snappers, however.) Both of Catleen's parents, aside from being Wildclaws, are also triply swamp-hued, as are her mother's father and father's father; her immediate grandmothers are not. Catleen had one clutchmate, Heimdallr, who had the same genes, color, and breed as Catleen herself; he chose to serve the Windsinger once he became an adult.

During her first Brightshine Jubilee, Catleen purchased herself an Okapi scroll! Shortly thereafter, her mother changed her own patterning from poison-toxin to jupiter-saturn; Catleen does not understand why, but thinks her mother is still beautiful with her new genes.

Catleen is "half-Yrk" by either Yrkish or Human standards (because Yrken care about how Yrkish you are, and Humans care about how non-Human you are). Yrken have cyan skin, Humans have brown skin, and as a result Catleen has green skin. Humans who haven't met Yrken and don't realize that they really do have blue-green skin sometimes mistake Catleen for a Yrk, especially since her other noteworthy feature is her nose: Yrken have very pig-like noses. Otherwise, physically, she's a foot soldier - she isn't huge and musclebound because women need steroids to get lumpy and muscly, generally speaking, but if she showed up today people might think she was a marathon runner or a triathlete or something like that.
