guardian • water spirit • protector "quote" Tranquil, languid, serene: all words that describe the very epitome of Axenus' being. He is a creature of the waters, a shapeshifter in disguise that is as malleable as the substance he originated from. To think that Axenus has but one form is a childish speculation, one that has led to the untimely death of many who fail to trust him like one might the ocean itself. His body hides secrets that none can penetrate, with a darkness that is both inviting and terrifying at the same time. To die by Axenus' talons is as slow as drowning; the only difference is that it is far more painful. Axenus was created as a testiment to the planet itself. Much like his spiritual counterparts, he was not created between two creatures but rather born of the magical powers in the universe itself. He appeared one day on the shores of one of the great oceans, unable to find a name, a past, or a destination. The first wasn't a problem for him: he chose the name Axenus from a passing by traveller who introduced himself as such. It was the only word he knew that he could associate with, and so he held on to it like a saving grace. The other two were far harder to find, for Axenus knew naught why he was brought out of the deep slumber he was in when inbetween worlds and dimensions. The thing that he did know was that he didn't want to go back into that slumber. He had gotten his first taste of freedom, of life, and Axenus was not willing to let that go easily. It wouldn't be an easy fight, as the man was soon to find out. The ocean, too, was not willing to let Axenus off the hook that easily. The magical powers that bound the universe could tell that their creation did not want to go back to what his rightful place was once his time in the physical dimension was over. To constrain and eventually recapture their lost son, the entities made it so that each contact with water would lead to inevitable destruction on Axenus' part. And so, although his love for the ocean was great and he couldn't help but always be attracted towards it, his love for life outshone it. His contact with the physical water ceased, but the entity did not simply stop his contact with it altogether. •In enim justo, rhoncus ut, imperdiet a, venenatis vitae, justo.
