Varia

Varia is just like Urbei, but without authority: that is, she is a worried mom.
She has no children of her own, yet, but she worries and cares for the hatchlings in the clan. The generation dubbed the "Ice Children" have caused both her and Urbei a lot of grief with their shenanigans and adventures. She has tried to figure them out, why they act so recklessly, and has donated what she found to Solum and his archives, but for the most part she just offers them comfort and motherly care when their own parents are away. She hopes Groove and Caeli's children will not be so worrying, but she knows it's unlikely.
She joined the clan of her own accord, just because she didn't want to be alone anymore. She hadn't realized up to that point how much she liked children. Even though she was barely an adult, herself, when she joined, she felt responsible for Gem, who became her close companion after her own friend, Alium, left, and Gemina's sister went away. For the longest time, she thought that the feelings she felt for Gem were purely motherly. Eventually, though, he began to court her, losing his *******-ish shell when he was around her. She knew he had never cared for children, but he began to spend time around his little siblings just to spend time with Varia. She is the reason he bonded with his siblings after Laeta left.
Gemina has many times teased Varia with fashion suggestions. He wants to give her a hat, or some sort of clothing, so that he'll feel that she will have some part of him. She allowed him to succeed once and only once.
