Biography

Through the pursuit of strange and mystic magics, Brightsand is trying to ascend to the ranks of the clan's scholars. Yet the ghastly energies that surround him have no proven utility; that he can walk without sight is not enough to be a leader.

He's merely an insect-catcher and scavenger for the clan. He is quite good at catching insects. "They have trivial spirits," he says. "Fractional essences. Immaterium among immaterium. Just enough to observe, and not enough to feel bad about ending; indeed, not enough to pose any challenge."

He prefers scavenging, claiming, "It's a spiritual challenge as well, finding reclaimable detritus and seeing its brighter future potentials, which poses no 'ending' at all." This claim grants beauty to scavenging and would have earned him some regard, but the clan has seen no great fortune in scavenging thus far, only a way to accrete the molded carpets of abandoned lairs. Most of the clan dragons respect insect-catching more than scavenging.
