Rivera

An artist with not much of a following in her career. She enjoyed traveling and painting landscapes of all sorts of mystical places. She had a small but loyal group of patrons that supported her career. She died tragically after an encounter with bandits during her travels. Her most loyal patron, who had hid the fact that he was a lich during their time together, was deeply unhappy with this news. He used his darker magic to influence her spirit and bring her back as a revenant.

The two have a very rocky relationship now. The lich had eliminated all of the bandits save for the one that ended Rivera's life. He keeps that bandit alive, safe, and hidden from Rivera, fearing that their death would allow Rivera's spirit to leave him once more. Despite most revenants decaying within 1 year, there seems to be some force maintaining her spirit and shape beyond that timeframe.

Rivera, not too keen on the whole undeath thing, has taken refuge in Riftwist and has picked up art once more to try and create some semblance of a normal life. She rarely travels now and instead turns her focus to painting scenes of the quirks of the portal town and its citizens. She's unaware of it, but the lich often sends proxies to town to buy those paintings for him.
