Borealis

A sweet soul who found himself wandering the glowing depths of the Tangled Woods. He went from den to cave, blessing and helping those in need. Due to his large size, most dangerous creatures would leave him alone.

One day, he happened upon a massive white castle in the center of the forest. From far away he could see the glint of armor on top of the battlements. The Imperial, curious, ventured forward to the gate and asked to enter. The gate creaked open and Borealis took his first steps into what would become his new home. Dragons bustled about, clad in metal and leathers to keep their hides safe from the dangers outside their walls. Small stalls were set up with colorful displays of their wares. And huge stone houses poured smoke from their chimneys.

He carefully made his way to the outskirts of the castle, to a small grassy hill where a few trees grew to settle down for the night. And that is where he found his future mate. In her gleaming glory as she crouched by a small circle of stones. He stopped in his tracks and watched her as the wind blew through her mane gently, almost like a wavering purple flame. Suddenly her eyes opened, glimmering jade against her dark scales, and she looked over to him as she felt his gaze.

Borealis felt his heart grow has he met her gaze. It stuttered as she raised her lips in a small smile.

"I have been expecting you," she spoke. The words from her throat as airy as a breeze, so soft they almost seemed to come from his mind. "The forest called to me and said you would be here soon. They spoke of your kindness. The gentle giant who glistens like the night sky full of stars."

He broke eye contact, looking away for a moment in embarrassment. She was too kind "I only bring to the forest what is missing. Everything must have balance."

A little chuckle from the beautiful dragon before him made him look back at her. She stepped towards him, "Just because the night is dark, it is not full of terrors. You're the light in many lives. And you have a grand purpose in life. Come. Tell me more about yourself." And with that she turned away from him, flicking her tail lightly against his snout. Borealis followed.



Fast forward to present time. After the fall of the Clan in Shadow, Borealis followed his love, Opal to their new territory in the icy and deadly Cloudscrape Crags. He has since retired from his wanderings and instead spends his days tending to the gardens within Fort Wolfsbane.
