Disillusion

Disillusion stared into the water, the slight ripple of the water distorting his black and white figure. Everything had changed so quickly. He used to be a striking coatl of vibrant colors, but now his color had faded away and his feathers were lackluster at best. His scales had gone from bright and beautiful to dull and drab. He would be forever looked down upon by others of his breed, that is if he were to ever get out of this place.

His change in appearance was the worst of what had happened, but it was not his only problem. The reason he was here, in this prison of colorless hell, was because of a crime he had not committed. He was manipulative, yes, and also capable of thievery, but he could never take the life of another. It was too gruesome an act to think about, yet he had been framed for the murder of his lover.
