Seyah has always taken great pride in being a shadow dragon. And surely the Shadowbinder herself would be proud too, for Seyah embodies everything the flight is said to be: cunning, tricky, and incredibly charismatic. Naturally, it was obvious she would go into politics. Unhappy with the patch of forest her fungal charge restricted her to, she managed to bind it to herself instead and donned a FAKE CHARGE as a decoy, finally giving her the freedom she so desired. Now she could go anywhere, do anything. And she set her eyes on power. It didn't matter where or what power, really. Given enough time she was sure she could keep gaining more until she was finally satisfied. Her thirst for power lead her to the Sanctum in its early infancy. It was barely even a clan, ruled by the reserved Arael. She wormed her way in, offering her services and advice to help the new clan get on its feet. It was all going perfectly. Seyah wasn't sure why, but she had a good feeling about this place. That good feeling only grew when she eventually learnt of Arael's abilities - the dragoness had the ability to lay waste to entire armies hidden away under her quiet facade. Seyah had always recognised the power of secrecy and urged the Skydancer to keep it private, a hidden weapon to be unleashed if needed. Although initially dismayed at the realisation she probably couldn't coup a life witch, Seyah quickly adjusted her mindset. She may not be able to seize control herself, but second in command to such a powerful force was nothing to be sneered at. And so she settled into her role of the loyal and trusted advisor. Seyah started to see the Sanctum and sovereignty as an extension of herself, and she threw herself into protecting it. Dragons came to know her as fiercely loyal to the sovereignty, even if her methods were often morally questionable. And, if they need something done that Arael would never approve of, they know where to go. Seyah knows the ends justify any means, and doesn't hesitate to get dirty work done - although always making sure to keep her own claws clean. Despite once secretly plotting to overthrow Arael, Seyah is now one of her most steadfast and dedicated supporters. And, with all her secrets and knowledge and connections, surely one of the the sovereign's most dangerous. |
