Hehehhehehe looks like my fav canon lore might be coming back 👀

Keeping this stuff until post rewrite then I will edit it, keep what I like change what I don't.

This thread, I have yet to read the lore but really???

With the whole thing about trees and healing, I really thought we were going to get an actual expansion upon the bounty of elements lore. You know, the one with the First Seed and how the character within that story was seemingly tempted into releasing that seed upon plague by an unknown dragon. This would be perfect for that. You can even incorporate cycles into it. Nature and Plague are not actually opposites, they are the same side of two different coins. Both work within a cycle of life and death; in nature death feeds the soil, in plague the soil feeds off death. Digestion in its most basal forms. Both are living entities, the body of plague is carpeted by ever-growing flesh, and of course the life we are more familiar with in the form of plants. The disagreement between the sisters is not over life and death, it's over what life and death should look like and how they should intertwine.

The seed was for a short time a parasite upon plague, the flight of parasites, I really think this is cool lore. I can't believe you guys went with this iffy bs instead,,,

There's just so much here, I'll organize my thoughts on this in a bit.

I'm using my own lore for this breed, I figured it would be the actual cannon lore with the teaser, but no! It's just my lore.

Hmmm okay! Why is that thread locked?

Hrrrg, I really wish someone else designed this breed. Feathered wings are not this artist's strong suit, they're so awkward,,, Two of the babies wings are just, floating behind the dragon? Like those png's people add behind images of their dead pets. Completely disconnected from the body. And their anatomy is so weird, spirals are similar in form and function, but those actually have allusions to muscle groups existing within the dragon's limbs and somewhat believable joints. The F-pose is so much worse on these guys, oh my god. The wings just start as round bulbs on the skin and then there's an unusual looking wing kinda attached? Like some sort of weird ball jointed doll, or a very fancy skin-tag. Look I like the name, I like that they are snakes, I am also getting some high-coverage skins.

Auraboas endlessly add upon their ancestors experiences, ever-growing and changing. A snake shedding its skin. To them the battle between Plague and Nature is new, in the past they understood they were the same thing competing over the same food. An endless hunger, but nothing more. Two species competing to fill the same niche. Yet they evolved, one becoming a parasite as they began to feast upon their home just as it digested them, and nature lived with their life in a mutualistic relationship. Both giving and taking, but just like plague but instead gently. There was no true intent between what had conspired between them and plague; it was simply nature. Yet now there has been a true slight, and it was not against them. A parasite of nature upon plague, something they were never meant to take. They had already sorted their places in this world, and yet one of their own has intruded upon the life of plague. They only leave their lands to make this right, to settle the score. What has been lost will be repaid in full. The next generation opens their eyes to see the world in colors their species has never gotten a chance to know, and so they become one with every niche, one with every flight. It is a new age for growth, beyond their borders, where they will become one with every form of nature and the cycles it has taken. Starting with plague, but never ending with it. This is not a fight to be won, they started this when one of them intruded upon plague as a parasite, they with heal it with their own nature of mutualism. Giving as much as they had taken, becoming one with every fold.

Kinda inspired by how evolution works and my own thoughts on plague and nature. I will deff expand upon this later, but I am so tired. I'd like to think of them a bit as well intending humans, entering a pre-existing ecosystem to preserve and document it, but also becoming part of it in the process. I think I've already covered how they feel about being parasites/destructive, they know their place in the ecosystem. They've established themselves as mutualistic beings and that is how they want to remain.

Their stories and knowledge are shared through a collective dream, a single consciousness they enter when they sleep. It used to only be green.

Look we've got their hivemind, an inciting event that drew them out of hiding. Yeah, some themes were lost, some of that was deliberate. Plus they are not bound to the servitude of their deity, one we have already mentioned deflected and did so maliciously, but it would not have been the first and it certainly would not be the last. It was just that those went gently, slipping away from the fold they had been born to, but never fully disconnected from it. When they slept, they drempt of green, but their own colors were not enough to bleed through. Now everyone knows of a night painted red, and every night they add their own dreams of colors brand new.

Okay, this is just setting up for Demure's actual lore. Pinion is an unnatural place haunted by ill intent. A hollowed out cavern that once housed a parasite that was meant to doom this planet, one that inadvertently shaped this world around itself. The true nature of plague had been to become a parasite upon this parasite, weakening it as best they could. This issue has already been solved, a false god slain, but the empty grave of a dying god remains seeped with their agony and hatred, a foreign intent upon this world. Demure is one of the founders of Pinion, being trapped here by forces outside his knowledge or control (Sia). He is not alone, others wait here twisted and suffering under the curse of these caverns. Driven by the inclinations of his species, he tries his best to carve out a place for himself. His intent is benevolent, the results are cruel. Pinion is cursed with bloodlust, it poisons every individual and runs as a plague through this city. If left alone, like it is within the surrounding caverns, the curse fades and dissipates without a true host. Demure build a city upon blood and death, the perfect host for a parasite's ghost.

He is like his namesake, demure. Due to this he has a body guard who keeps him safe, Azriel. Thay met down here and together they shaped the vision of Pinion, a home for the fallen built so that together they could invert babel. A tower out of hell, where understanding is found through pushing towards the heavens, a false sky. This does not happen, but still they kept trying. Burying them deeper in their own hell.

Demure is favored just as those that are born here with a blessing from the angel, a power that is beyond the elemental magic of the world above. Nothing can kill him. This is as much of curse as it is a gift, easily exploited.
