You say I can't do this, but I've already proven I can.

Ever since she was a child, Flatline knew she was destined for great things. She knew because a fortune teller told her. She had dismissed it at first, even as a hatchling she was a bit of a skeptic. But as the years passed, her ambitions grew. She didn’t want just anything, she wanted everything. In the chilly tundra of her home, she saw that life was hard, and while her clan was great, it could be better. And Flatline was convinced she’d make it that way, make the lair a safe haven for those who were lost in ice storms or who wandered, lost, without a place to claim as their own.

She dedicated her free time to learning all she could about the other areas of Sorneith, to make visiting dragons more comfortable. She learned to cook, and how to tend a wound. She studied wilderness skills, and when she wasn’t learning she was helping. First, other hatchlings, then as she grew more and more of the clan. Some members viewed her as meddlesome and tiring, her enthusiastic energy for anything that might make things better wore them out. Her focus was scattered, they said, she would never make a difference. Not a real one.

But as time passed, Flatline found her calling. It was on the wild plains. Too many dragons were left to freeze in the cold, and Flatline couldn’t allow that. So she started to bring them home. First just a few that she kept secret in her room but as time passed she put her skills to use. She added a small addition to the lair to house the unfortunate souls she pulled from the wastes. She fed them, and if necessary healed them. Some found a permanent home, and others left when they were well enough to travel. Many of those who left sent back gifts, and helped forged alliances. As the success of the clan grew, so did Flatline’s status. However, she refused to leave her calling for a more prestigious position, and she can often be found wandering the Southern Icefield with an extra blanket tucked into her gear.
