Nomas was born with a fraction of the energy of his spiral father, but it was enough to set him apart from the other hatchlings. He was active, long after everyone else was tired and restless while everyone else was content to remain within the boundries of the clan.

His restless nature found relief in the service of the Lightweaver- traveling further and longer in the lands around him- able to spend longer in the heat of Her gaze than others before he had to seek the shade. It did not fully satisfy him however and he found himself thinking wistfully of a promised oasis-

Seek not for your clouded day, rather allow it to find you.

Nomas exhaled gustily and shook his horns towards the distant mountains in exasperation. While he felt mostly suited following the path of the Lightweaver across the sky and chasing Her rays across the expanse of territory that his new clan claim, something still felt... missing. He'd left his home lair in search of just satisfaction, and while he felt he'd made a place for himself- it wasn't enough. He didn't crave the total shade of the Lightweaver's sister but sometimes- he just wanted a little relief from the blazing light that was Her service. He knew that the elders here would say the same thing that those back home had- but patience was something that the desert forced you to cultivate- and he did not feel as if he was lacking in that.

Praia and Gyldenris would be pleased if he found a mate that shared his deep red coloring- but Nomas had begun his wandering life because he was searching for something different. And perhaps- he thought, pulling his wings tightly against his body to lessen the light striking him. something a little less warm.

The thought had no sooner formed in his head when his attention was drawn upwards. The thin, lazy clouds, barely moving against the bright blue sky were abruptly joined by another, much larger. Eyes widened as he watched it outpace the other clouds, and for a moment- blot out the bright sunlight before winging on.

His normal travel route was immediately discarded. Most of his clanmates did their best to avoid casting shadows- he wanted to meet the one who had, for a moment, brought cool relief. Cloudy days. Maybe I don't have to search for you- but I won't make you do all the work either.

A busy several days later involved a friendship with a new clan, several treasures given as gifts, and a very special one given to his newest companion. A courting gift of carefully hoarded pieces of colored glass, baked smooth and shining in the desert sun worn by Cloudy- who provided his soul respite from the scorching sun.
