Biography
As the son of two noble ambassadors, Thallan had a very educated upbringing. When he was a hatchling, he traveled the world at his parents' side as they made their way through the various regions of Sorienth, and along the way, he learned not only a wide variety of cultures, but the histories that made them. He's fascinated by history, and spent many hours in his young life pouring over countless books or listening to the spoken tales of the older clans, but it wasn't until he visited the Sunbeam Ruins for the first time that he realized he could own a part of those ancient stories. He was still a young dragon when they came to the ruins, and while his parents did business with a clan of researchers, Thallan found himself wandering through the ruins, mesmerized by the grandness of their age. A collection of statues he came across seemed as if poised in the midst of combat, spears drawn, their faces twisted up in adrenaline-fueled fury, and he stood there for a long while wondering what their story was.
A researcher approached him, startling him out of his trance, and told him of the battle that took place in these very walls. It was a desperate fight, one that claimed many lives as the dragons here fought to protect an ancient source of power. They'd been imbued into light runestones, and the researcher told him how the old scrolls spoke of how they used to glow so bright it was as if a second sun had been set into their walls. The magic was gone now, and the runestones reduced to nothing but intricate pieces of stone, but Thallan was entranced, and when he held one in his palm, he felt the same weight in the stone that he saw in the crumbling buildings, and the face of the coatl soldier he'd peered at for so long. It made his fingers shake as he touched the inscriptions, and the researcher was charmed by the boy's fascination.
He gave Thallan that stone; there were hundreds of them after all and the dig site wouldn't miss just one, and Thallan was ecstatic. He's been an avid collector of history ever since. Some call it hoarding, but Thallan doesn't mind. He's made a business out of buying and selling relics of the past, and is the proud curator of a museum he owns and lives within alongside the Sunbeam Ruins themselves. He's a bit eccentric, and far too consumed with his obesession for most dragons, but for those who don't mind his rambling, he's got endless stories to tell, each with a special piece of history as their focal point.
