Nobody quite remembers when Dice first appeared in the territory of the clan. They just know that at some point he was dragged before Restan by a dragon complaining that the restless spiral had tortured them with his jokes. Aware of their patriarch's poor memory, the dragons were not surprised when Restan didn't remember the prankster. When Helegir and Aurum also failed to identify him, however, disturbances broke out. Although the clan's defenders were severely scolded for their inattention, all of them still believe that it was not totally their fault. Dice is... special. If you combined all of the stereotypes about Shadow flight dragons and added the inherent eccentricity of spirals, you would have a good idea of what Dice is like. He has the distinctive ability to appear out of nowhere at the most unexpected moments, insert his remark or joke into the middle of a conversation, and disappear again almost before the others realize what he's done. He also finds it fun to annoy others with jokes and tricks for hours. Dice calls himself 'it' and speaks in the third person. For example, if asked for his name, he will respond, "Its name is Dice." He never calls other dragons by their name, but by nicknames he came up with. All of this could be put up with if he were not a mage. Oh yes, Dice is a mage; a very talented and sometimes even useful one. Maybe that's why he was eventually allowed to stay Fortunately, Dice lives apart from the main lair. He chose a branchy oak to be his home. Although its boughs resisted, the tree ultimately surrendered to the dragon's pressure and withered. Where once leaves rustled, now multicolored ribbons and twinkling magic lanterns flutter, and at the roots grow glowing mushrooms Dice brought with him from the Tangled Wood. |
