Gloria

Athi knew that his mate would probably send a playful smack his way if he ever said this in front of her, but he had never seen anything as glorious as his Gloria.

Ah yes. Athi could still remember it like it was yesterday (Gloria could remember it too, as clear as glass. But it was always Athi who insisted on being the storyteller).

Who would have thought that he could have met someone so pretty while fishing in Ice territory? It had been the first time that either of them had ventured out of their own flights: Athi from Wind, and Gloria from light. Both had been interested in joining an Ice clan, and incidentally, they had chosen the exact same fishing/hunting spot.

There was this peculiar, natural tug towards each other, and neither of them could quite identify when or why they had began to gravitate towards the other one (Athi would continue to insist that she had been attracted to his crystalline feathers, but Gloria would roll her eyes and say that maybe it was the nearly-matching glimmer.)

Nonetheless, the next thing Athi knew, he was valiantly saving Gloria from a Yeti that had wandered a bit too far from its home— or least that's what he tells everyone ("You saved me? I'm almost positive that I was the one saving you!")

And for some reason, they were two overly-friendly peas in a pod from then on, even going as far as to join the same Ice clan, where they promptly began to send everyone in the general vicinity cringing by blatantly flirting whenever the chance was given. Much to everyone's surprise (including Athi himself), Gloria was genuinely flattered by his attempts to gain her affection. It got to the point where their clanmates were yelling "Get together already!" whenever they were seen in public together.

Finally, after several months of bearing through the teasing, they finally took the chance to be together forever (or rather, Gloria got tired of waiting and "subtly" hinted to him that she wanted to be at his side for the rest of eternity), and they've stayed happy together ever since.

"And that's the story of how we got together!" Athi grinned, wrapping a wing around Gloria.

"You told it completely wrong!" Gloria huffed, her cheeks turning somewhat red.

"Oh, really? Would you like to tell your version of it then?"

"N-no, that's fine."
