TANALETH Smith Tanaleth never let her element stand in the way of pursuing her craft. She toiled for years in sweltering workshops of the Great Furnace, ignoring the mocking of her fellow smiths. They teased her relentlessly claiming that she would 'melt like ice' under the pressure of working in the smithies. Instead she emerged from the pits and made a name for herself. Clans flocked to commission her. She crafted weapons and jewellery alike, both drew attention. It was rare for a smith not to specialise - Tanaleth was simply talented enough to craft whatever the customer wanted. She grew bored with smithing for rich clans and decided to put her work on hold to travel. During her travels, she became close with a small clan in the Viridian Labyrinth. The clan was constantly under threat as they guarded a rare mine, sought after by other clans. It was clear that the clan needed protection and they assembled a group of elite warriors. Although, she had no battle experience, the captain of the warriors recognised Tanaleth's keen spirit and persuaded her to join their ranks. Tanaleth threw herself into this training with as much vigor as back in her days in the Great Furnace. She crafted each warrior a weapon suited to their needs and soon they seemed invincible to their enemies. Tanaleth herself became a formidable warrior - wielding bows with precision, arrows always striking true. As with all things, it could not last. The rival clans allied together and struck under the cover of darkness - the clan was doomed before they had even risen to fight. The knights fought valiantly for hours and fled when they realised the battle was hopeless. Now they mourn their friends and family. Clan Aurorae has provided them shelter and Tanaleth is content to refine her crafts. If only for the chance to return to her home to seek vengeance. |
