Warsong

Music filled the air as a battle came to an end. Blood had been spilled upon the earth and it was a time of mourning. So a song floated from the flute of a mage, soft and melodic but something strange in the notes pulled at the heartstrings of all who listened. It was a tune that did not match it's creator as the mage was a old and heartless man who was giddy that those lower than him were destroying each other.

"What do you call that song?" someone asked while wiping a tear from their eye. A sinister smile came to his lips and he pulled his hood down to reveal his scarred and burned face. From his lips came a single word.

"Warsong."

From the flute came a swirl of jade smoke and a flurry of feathers before a dragon appeared before the crowd. Most cried out and ran while the rest gathered their weapons in a feeble attempt to destroy it. The skydancer roared out in distress and the mage cackled.

"Kill them all!" he shouted but the dragon refused. Instead he took to the sky and stared down at the mass of people, looking like insects at the height that he was at. Although he was created to be the destruction of man, his heart was filled with the gentle spirit of song so he let the breeze carry him to the far reaches of the world. A melody trailing him wherever he went like a song on the wind.
