There is magic all around us...

Dawn had always been his favorite time. It had that precious moment when the glint of the new sun hit the waters around the Isles and glimmered through the ample crystal cliffs, scattering light like a kaleidoscope. He could always marvel at the way objects would pick up on light. At how local colors could be transformed into an array of hues that he had to teach himself to notice, like how backlit objects look darker, a dull red looks brighter when near a green, and so on. Then there was also the special features of the Arcane region. All that ambient magical energy had to go somewhere and sometimes it contorted the area's inhabitants but sometimes it made one glitter. He had always fallen into the later category; born a white drake, he had over time picked up the hues of his home. They had dyed his hair and seeped into his wings and crystal had crept into his cutaneous condition.

If there was one thing in his life that was constant it was that habit of waking up early to see this blessed hour. When he was younger and had not yet picked up a trade he would bound across the moorland first thing in the morning and soft grass would tickle his palms. Everything else was largely uncertain, a largely absent clan meant fluctuating food availability and no one to protect you when raiding parties of dragon and beast alike came for a visit. But dawn? That was always there. He would trapeze across the angled bluffs in the morning light, loosening clumps of sparkling magenta stone as he went. They would tumble into the sea below. And if he slipped he had his wings to catch him. His world was a world of color and life. Nowhere else was quite like this. He had traveled as far as the Sunbeam Ruins once to see the homeland of his kind and while it was beautiful it still did not compare to here. It had been missing a certain magic.

Now, older and far more occupied, he wakes to watch the sunrise from his window as he carefully fills his looms. And in his labored threads he is sure to pour all the colors he so cherishes.
