PERSONALITY. Flirtatious, charming, gorgeous, Cupid is the perfect mate for anyone. His powers of seduction outweigh any useless elemental magic. ...Or, at least, that's what Cupid likes to think. Most of his lair mates would describe him as "an... interesting character." Cupid knew he was born gorgeous, but beauty in itself doesn't mean you're desirable. No, he had to work for his irresistibility. As soon as he learned there were romance languages, he was sold. Since then, he hasn't stopped peppering his speech with meaningless French. No one is quite sure if he knows what he's saying, but they sure have no idea. ROLE. Cupid's role is to "always be the most attractive male dragon in the clan". He argues this will attract new clan members and promote clan growth. He's a remarkable citizen, seeing as how willing he is to do his part, for the good of the clan alone! Gala still hasn't finished reprimanding him for his last failure to report for duty. At this point, the clan is just trying to make Cupid do something--even if it is only minimal gathering tasks. BACKSTORY. Cupid's life has never been characterized by permanence. His parents loved each other, but they were easily bored. Sooner rather than later, they decided to serve their deity, simply because they were bored of clan life. Cupid left his home clan before they made this decision, but he received countless letters telling him the news. Cupid himself has wandered far and wide, almost like a wind dragon, or a guardian looking for a charge. He's learned a lot in his travels, and flirted with a lot of dragons. His wanderlust has been calm for quite a while now--and sometimes he wonders what exactly it is that keeps him here. He suspects it's his lovely Psyche. Although he flirts with others, he only really cares for her. In a life full of impermanence, she is his certainty. He's never really found the words to tell her this, but he suspects she already knows. |
