Salaam

Salaam's dark body and dappled purple wings perhaps foretell this drake's fascination with shadow. True to his Flight, he is a philosopher by nature, but Salaam prefers to delve into the darker, less-talked-about mysteries of life, and is ever the devil's advocate when a group discussion erupts among the clan. He is firmly of the opinion that wherever there is light, so too shadow ought to be, and to have one without the other is prideful folly. The idea of good and evil, too, is naïveté.

He has a sweet, rasping voice, like honey and wine, and aspires someday to be a diviner. Sometimes he journeys to the waters of the Tsunami Flats to sunbathe and converse with any clans he might find there. Much he also learns from his aunt, Alaria. A water dragon like his father, Salaam looks to the secretive Seeress in the hopes that he can sharpen his own inherent ability, and make it into the profession that she was always too shy to pursue. In doing so, Salaam, though he is an elder son of Pigeon and Jae, cast aside his rights to inherit the rule of the Clan in order to focus entirely on his studies. He has few close friendships, but finds a boon companion in his cousin Moss.
