Biography
Long before Teovanth and his Golden Flight rose to power in the Ashfall Waste, there lived a clan of warrior dragons known as the Magmara. The old carvings tell many tales of the first Magmara Warrior named Rholdroth. The strongest and fiercest of the ancient fire Guardians, Rholdrolth was much beloved by the Flamecaller. One day as a reward for his loyal service she spoke a great secret, telling the dragon that if he were to journey to the Great Furnace and bathe himself in it's molten pools for seven days he would wield the power of the great volcano. Seeking to please the Flamecaller, he obeyed her instructions at great cost to himself. Each day, Rholdroth bathed in the hottest pools until he could no longer stand the intense heat. Soon his onyx skin cracked and molten earth filled the wounds. It boiled away his blood until his heart began to beat not with liquid but with living fire.
Upon his return to the Wastes, Rholdroth was no longer a dragon but an unstoppable berserker. He turned his enemies to cinder and conquered many clans, dousing the world in flames. With his great power, however, Rholdroth was no longer content to serve the Flamecaller. He wished to surpass her and soon began raise up an army in his own image. He commanded his followers to bathe in the pools of the Great Furnace so that they too might share its burning power. Only the strongest warriors survived the bathing, and were entered into the ranks of the Magmara.
Once Rholdroth was satisfied with his army, he declared to the Flamecaller that the Ashfall Wastes were his to command. Displeased with Rholdroth's treachery, the Flamecaller breathed a great flame that consumed the turncoat and his great army. Only those who bowed in humility to the deity were allowed to live, under the condition that they were to serve the Flamecaller until the end of their days. And so they did for many centuries.
Taevarth, the youngest of the Magmar, is now the last of his kind. Unable to defend the territory of his ancestors on his own, he is subject to the land's new prophet and general Teovanth. Because of his former treachery, he is forever barred from joining the ranks of the Golden Flight and is forced to train the flight's new initiates in the ways of battle.
