HISTORY OF THE PRINCE
As expected, the experiment was an utter failure, The twin's mother had laid three eggs; two containing Valère and Birgir, and one containing...something. Something dangerous. Valère and Birgir hatched normally, without any side-effects, however, their sibling was less than safe. Born with magic far beyond what his parents were capable of, it was clear he was no imperial anymore. But he wasn't an emperor. Not yet anyway. |
In order to focus on his newfound creation, Valère and Birgir were cast into the endless fields of The Fortress of Ends. A horrible place where the darkest creations of Xhaztol and Eberict (Icewarden) lived in suspended animation, waiting for the day to rise against their creators. Days, months, years passed before the princes were to find solace, wandering the unforgiving horrors of The Fortress of Ends, however, every path has its price. After wandering for so long - the ice and snow began to infect Valère's eyes, snow-blinding him. No longer could he be recognized as a dragon of the arcane. For Eberict had claimed his final toll. Finally, after years of searching, wandering, and praying: Help arrived. In the form of a pair of skydancers, a husband and wife who found the orphaned, blind, and struggling brothers. Swiftly the princes to their small clan on the edge of the Gladeveins to recover. Although they led their clan, it was not much. Roughly only twenty could stand to fight by the pair. The princes were finally given their true names, as they had none to begin their lives. The blinded prince was gifted the name 'Valère' or 'to prevail', his brother was rewarded the name 'Birgir' or 'Helper/Protector' in honor of his bravery in keeping his weakened brother alive. Here the brothers took their claim in the world - |

Master of the masquerade, this Imp would throw the fanciest parties and only have the most costly clothes, but also wouldn't shy away from a long and complicated revenge-scheme like the Count of Monte Cristo.

For the twins, Birgir and Valére the story of their childhood is a vacant one. The boys were practically mini adults by the age of 10, taking in full responsibility for their lives and the roles they knew they had to lead. It wasn’t until their teenage years that the two would make choices that would define their lives and personalities.
Birger was the more independent and strong of the two. Controlling fleets when needed and igniting the spark in the citizen’s eyes when called for. Because of this, Birgir also knows how to present himself. Throwing the most beautiful and expensive of parties. His friends often spoke of him as ‘The Master of the Masquerade”.
It’s rare to find the man far from his prized possessions: his half-mask, inspired by Eric Leroux and the tyranny he caused to La Opera-Paris. As well as his Red-Tailed Boa, who seems to be his most constant of companions. Affectionately, Birgir named the snake after his father Motur.
No seer in Sorinth could have seen Birgir’s change when he met a certain woman. Zahira. Mainly due to the young woman’s rather unpleasant disability, Birgir took to the woman instantly. The woman was a Seer, cursed by the spirits of darkness after a ravaging clan took over her home, leaving her as the last living child. Cursed to remember the damage for years to come.
Now every year, on the last day of December, Zahira is forced to look back on this trauma and relive it. She watches as every member of her clan, every member of her family was left lifeless in her home. In the past, It was extremely dangerous for Zahira to partake in this activity, as sometimes she would be unable to come out of the pain and depression and willing to end it all.
Since meeting Birgir, most of Zahira’s episodes have shortened. Allowing her to pull out of her trauma for days and weeks rather than months.
