VELADIN

Clan Role: Clan Progenitor, Coliseum Marauder
Mate: terval
Bio
Veladin's first memories are of climbing out of a crag in the Shifting Expanse. Motherless, fatherless, he left behind the remains of his fragile egg and entered the harsh world all on his own. He spent his youth alone, feeling a very strange feeling as he eyed clans of dragons together in their homes as he wandered the waste. It wasn't until he met Terval that he realized the emotion in his guardian heart: loneliness. It became his duty, his drive, his purpose as a guardian to develop and defend the family he made with Terval, ensuring that what offspring they chose not to keep had gainful employ either with the Stormcatcher or another clan and honed his body into a machine capable of taking down even the strongest monsters.

However, this concern grew to be overwhelming and all-consuming. The guardian found he could not sleep if he could not see and hear the nests (even those he was not sitting on), and he became obsessed with the comings and goings of the younger dragons. Tired of the burdens that come with being a guardian, he desired to become a lighter, happier creature, a decision that Terval encouraged him to pursue. With the aid of a magic scroll, Veladin received his wish and became a spiral. With his heart no longer troubled, Veladin was able to give up his role of clan guardian, making way for younger dragons to take his role, and instead chose to focus his energies on procuring treasures and useful items from his battles.

Veladin still enjoys spending free time with the hatchlings, and can spend hours regaling the wide-eyed youngsters with stories of his awesome battles. He proudly carries the spirits of some of his fiercest foes with him at all times, a symbol of pride and a precaution to any dragon or monster who might seek to challenge him.
