____Koyane was out on his own. He wiggled his body through the air with a small wicker basket in the grip of his claws. The way he flew was an interesting spectacle, to say the least. It was as though someone threw a spaghetti noodle over the world's strongest fan. But no matter how odd he looked, making his way through the air, it still got him to where he needed to be. And today, that place was on the forest floor.

____It wasn't as though this was an abnormality within Koyane's life. In fact, it was quite the contrary. Koyane spent a good portion of his life crawling along various terrains, looking for interesting little specimens that grew beneath where he walked. Today was a mission though. His stomach yearned for a great pasta bake, and his favourite ingrediant was missing. Well, not missing. It was just that he had eaten them all. Hence the outing of the day. Koyane needed to replenish his stock of his favourite food and his favourite subject.

____Koyane landed and began using one of his claws, just one little claw tip, to separate the leaves that littered the forest floor. It was beginning to compost, thus providing great nutients for what he desired. It didn't take long for Koyane to find what he was seeking. Koyane knew the best hiding spots for every little, decadent mushroom. He was, after all, Sorneith's best mycologist. He knew where every mushroom thrived, as well as which were edible. His current find was edible, of course. Koyane was hungry and not about to study something he could not eat.

____An odd, toothy grin spread across Koyane's face. "Hydnum repandum," he whispered to no one in particular. "You sneaky little bugger. Get into my basket so I can cook you and put you into my stomach." Koyane continued to pluck the little treats from the earth, tossing them rather carelessly into his little wicker basket. "A sweet tooth for my sweet tooth." His hushed voice had taken on a sort of tune as he spoke to himself.

____Before long, Koyane's basket was filled to the brim with the cream coloured 'shrooms. So he picked up his little basket in one of his claws and shook out his wings. Koyane launched himself into the air and started his wiggle back to the lair. It didn't take long, since his favourite forest was only a few minutes away, when flying. Koyane touched down and waddled into his own oddly shaped cavern. He plopped the basket onto a raised portion of his flooring and began to inspect his prized possesions a bit more closely. He was interupted by a thought: he needed oregano. Koyane wandered outside to his little herb garden and stroked each plant with care. He came to his most used plant, one that he gave the most space due to his love of the taste and regular use. Koyane snipped a small stem and carried it back inside. He placed the herb beside his wicker basket and picked up the mushroom that he had to drop.

____Koyane slid yet another claw tip across the underside of the mushroom's cap, along its tightly packed little gills. He held the mushroom to his nostrils and inhaled slightly. "Fresh is as fresh can be." He tapped the tip of the cap lightly. "The only way you could be fresher is if I ate you off the ground like a common beast." Koyane chuckled to himself and dug out a pan. He was too lazy to cook the pasta with his own breath, so he opted to use firewood instead. When the water had cooked the pasta, Koyane threw in the mushrooms, some tomatos and carrots, a good heaping serving of spinach, and a few beast eggs that a neighbour had picked up for him. When it was all done,
Koyane added a good dose of his special pesto sauce and sat down at the entrance of his little cave to devour his favourite meal while watching the sun set slowly in the distance.

_Vegetarian Pesto Pasta Bake_

AKA what inspired Koyane's meal

★ Half a box of pasta
★ 1 halved and diced sweet potato or russet potato
★ 1/4 to 1/2 avocado
★ 1 Roma tomato or a handful of sun dried tomatoes
★ 1 lemon, juiced
★ 1 piece of toast or 1 cup bread crumbs
★ 1/4 Red onion
★ 1/2 cup walnuts
★ 1 or 2 cloves of garlic
★ 2 cups or so of spinach
★ 1 large carrot, graded or finely chopped
★ 2 large mushrooms, diced. Or a good handful of small mushrooms, also diced
★ Basil to personal preference
★ 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
★ Salt and pepper

____In a pot, bring some water to a boil and drop the sweet potato/russet potato bits in. Boil until soft. Meanwhile, boil the pasta in another pot until al dente. And preheat oven to 350F. Microwave carrots with a small bit of water for 1 to 2 minutes or until soft.

____In a food processor, add the avocado, tomatoes, lemon, toast, walnuts, red onion, garlic, basil, and salt and pepper. Blend well. Then add softened potato pieces and blend until pureed.

____In an oven safe container, add pasta, spinach, carrots, mushrooms, and pesto sauce. Mix well. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over top. Add any extra tomato. Bake for 10-15 minutes (This is optional).

____Serves 2-3 people, unless you're super hungry then only one. And probably only one dragon.
