Biography
Class(es):
Knight - High Ranking - Military
Prisoner - Low Ranking - Citizenry
Title(s):
"The Deserter"
Name Origin:
Tezcatlipoca was the Aztec god of the night sky, ancestral memory, and time. His name means "smoky mirror" and refers to the obsidian mirrors that the Aztecs used in religious and occult rituals.
Tezcatlipoca was the first son of the founding dragons of this clan. The child of founders, he had many great expectations placed upon him. These expectations weighed heavily upon him for most of his life. As he reached young adulthood, the pressure let out and he rebelled. Tezcatlipoca fled the frozen wastes and went to the lands of shadow. Once there, he gave himself to the service of the Shadowbinder, hoping to find fulfillment in servitude. He gave each of his and Osberga's four children to the Shadowbinder, without ever naming them. But mindless servitude offers no solace in the end, and even this life grew saddening.
As life in the Shadowbinder's service became miserable, Tezcatlipoca eventually came across Feilong, who comforted him. He taught Tezcatlipoca to not search for solace in stringent rules and solid traditions. Instead one must search for meaning in the freedom that a world without meaning offers, and must make your own meaning.
Tezcatlipoca grew from this, but one does not escape their past by growing. Osberga learned of the fate of her children, and declared war on Tezcatlipoca and the shadowlands. Thus began the third of the season crusades for the icy clan. This one was dubbed The Fall Crusades at first, and it was the first crusade to be begun by the frozen wastes.
The war was horrific and drawn out, but diplomacy on the part of Tezcatlipoca and Feilong brought the war to an end. Tselem, the clan's then leader, felt great guilt at the war crimes commited in the name of this war by his clan, and Tezcatlipoca felt guilt at being the cause of this war. The clan was ceded to Feilong, and became a Shadow clan, while Tezcatlipoca has been arrested and now serves as a Prisoner, doing time for his crime in service of the community. After the end of the war, it was renamed The Winter Crusade, in remembrance of the horrors initiated by the Ice clan.
Tezcatlipoca and Feilong are a couple, but Tezcatlipoca has made certain to not allow Feilong to use his authority as Clan Speaker to commute or lessen his sentance.
