A very old and somewhat powerful sorceress. In her prime she was the hottest little gem, she was beautiful and thriving with magical energy. It was a great time to be her but, as with most things, she faded with time. She is still very beautiful and more powerful then the average magic user but she's not the focus of anyone's attention, save a few stragglers here or there. She lived in the outskirts of the dial, the exact region that Car and Aceline decided to settle, for years with out being disturbed. She would make her potions and live off the land like any good dragon, occasionally visiting a near by town in order to sell something or get an ingredient she couldn't find. She was content except for one little thing. Soorak. He was ugly, smelly, and not very bright (in her opinion) yet she always found him scrounging around her territory to make his own 'potions' if they could even be called that. Needless to say they constantly feud and occasionally throw magic attacks at each other but, most of the time, it's just sincere insult based bickering before one gets too hot and leaves. Surprisingly, they do have their moments when they get along. Since they follow the same profession and (more or less) the same life style they understand each other on a level others don't and when the times actually get tough or one gets a bit too lonely they tend to turn to the other. Needless to say, they are mates (sort of not really, neither is really interested in finding a partner so they just hook up sometimes and don't really look at others) despite living on opposite sides of the glade and fighting most of the time. When Aceline and Carr came roaming in and looked like they were about to stay Mergo was initially inclined to drive them off, first with words and then with magic. Some how, however, the enigmatic Aceline managed to convince Mergo to invite the two of them in for tea and then to stay on a smaller conner of the glade. Not one to be easily swayed the shock of what transpired kept her silent for a few months until finally she intended to come into the camp and force them out with a heavy storm cloud or something. Before she could leave her house, however, Aceline came rushing in with scrolls in her beak saying 'hey wanna join our clan I came up with a cool name and there's already atleast ten of us' Mergo was of course enraged and would have probably set some nasty incineration spell on Aceline right then and there but before she even had the time to respond to the outrageous claims the fae was making, Aceline said, "Oh!! I also forgot to tell you, our newest member has been searching for you!! She wants to be your apprentice!" She then called for Phoenix and the young snapper came bounding in with the gleaming eyes of an excited 'child'. Mergo was again overcome with confusing emotions and so her first reaction was to roar at them to get out and then slam the door behind them. She then spent most of the night concocting some really nasty ways to get rid of the new 'clan' in her rage and the next morning she popped out, with the intention of flying over and buying the items she needed to fulfill these nasty wishes, to see phoenix sitting on her door step with not only breakfast for two but the ingredients that Mergo was just about to get. "I heard you mumbling," She explained, "I stayed by your window and got your ingredients why you slept!! It cost the last of my money though..." Mergo, obviously not having a great time processing the new and abrupt changes in her life, timidly took the items with out a word and went back inside her home to brood. She mixed up the potions she had planned to make but all the while she could sense/see little Phoenix outside her window looking happy as a clam and she began to feel like, if nothing else, she might be able to get something from this exchange. She finally decided to just accept what was being forced upon her with a heady sigh and now she finds her self half mentoring half raising Phoenix and apparently part of a clan (although she really doesn't interact with anyone other then when Aceline barges in or she needs something from them). Her charge is a forever youthful sapling residing near her home and the glade. She keeps it heavily guarded because she views it as a mystical object almost bordering that of the creators. After all, it does magically charge most of the area. |
