Darkness
Primary Role
Clan Guard/Warrior Darkness is a strong fighter in her clan. She trains every day she can, and when she isn't training she is exploring every little corner of where ever she can go. Darkness was raised as a polite hatchling, always doing as she was told and never talking back to her teachers. She was hatched purely for treasure for her clan, so everyday she would line up to be sold, looking her best and showing off. While Darkness was combing another coatl hatchling's hair, she saw a crack in the wall of her cave. A bright yellow light shone threw it, causing her to cover her eyes. She put the comb down and the coatl ran off. She edged towards it and placed one shaky claw on the edge of the crack. She ran ran her claw down the edge until she came to the other side. Suddenly the crack opened to a huge hole and threw it she could see a dimly lit forest. Scanning the forest with her water blue eyes, she cautiously stepped over the edge. Her feet sunk into soft grass and she wriggled her toes happily. The flowers that surrounded her smelt like chocolate and sugar. The trees reached up so far she couldn't see the tops, and the sky was clear and blue. "Take him down from the left!", she suddenly heard a dragon screech. Darkness crouched low and crept unnoticed into a bush. Shock engulfed her when she saw three dragons just a few meters away scratching and biting at two snakes. One dragon was even throwing creamy-coloured dust at other dragons and at the snakes. Darkness observed the odd behaviours for a while. She became excited when the dragons defeated one of the snakes. When both snakes were gone, an owl stepped in. She was so excited at this point that she almost ran out into the scene to help the dragons. As she crawled closer, Darkness heard a call for a doctor check up, and without thinking she rushed back to her cave, the crack closing behind her. She leaped and danced, her legs fidgeting with excitement. Some days later she found herself tempted to go back. She decided to quiz her teacher on the matter. After a brief explanation her teacher gasped and hugged her close. "Those were dangerous areas, certainly no place for a hatchling!" Her teacher said in his high pitched voice that always made Darkness cringe. "Those dragons were training, Darkness, to serve their Gods by becoming a warrior," he explained. Darkness looked up at her teacher thoughtfully. "How do I become a warrior?" |
