 Merry is a somewhat unlikely member of the mirror pack, starting with his name and moving on down to his frivolous, playful, and decidedly not vicious manner. He is, however, extremely quick and athletic. He excels at catching small, fleet prey and cutting off the retreat of larger creatures, and his usefulness, plus the fact that he’s extremely submissive, means that Thorne tolerates him. The fact that he’s easy on the eyes doesn’t hurt either.

He’s very attracted to Khazrakh, which means great bewilderment and not a little disquiet for her, and occasionally a punch on the nose for him. He wants her to genuinely accept him, however, so he tries hard to stay close to her without violating her boundaries. It’s a difficult dance to manage, but Merry is surprisingly patient in his efforts.


Facts
– Likes a piece of fruit on occasion, which is unusual for a mirror.
– Is quite sociable with other members of the clan, outside the pack.
– Is the only member of the mirror pack who likes Genki and has fun hanging around with him.
– Used to jokingly call Gourgeist "Gorefest," but only around Khazrakh and non-pack members, as Gourgeist honestly terrified him. He's very glad that the brutal mirror is gone.

There was an awkward moment when Khazrakh’s thresher tried to eat Merry’s hippocampus, but things have been worked out since then. (He hopes.) At least his venomtooth pilco Kaa is safe from predation, although there are a few dragons who wouldn't mind having it as a snack. (Mostly because when excited it emits loud, shrieking, cackling hoots like some demented bird, which can be really annoying.)
