Royale likes a good lie-in as much as any dragon, but unfortunately, his job as Assistant Trainer to Orbit doesn't give him much luxury for late mornings. He sometimes wonders why he got himself into this life - always having to wake up at the crack of dawn, training dozens upon dozens of dragons each week to be battle-ready, fighting monsters in the Mire until every part of his body aches - there's not much to like about it. The adrenalin rushes from each battle and the satisfaction of seeing trainees graduate and become accomplished warriors is all that's keeping him from quitting. That, and the fact that he's beginning to feel affection for his co-trainer and boss.

Although he always has a pout on his face as Orbit drags him out of his lair each morning, his reluctance is in fact hiding the joy that he feels from just being with the Imperial. He complains and has a sulky word for everything about the Coliseum, but when it comes down to it, you can be sure that he'll be there when you need him. A reliable partner in battle, Royale is sharp, and is quick to cover Orbit's blindspots (which is quite a feat; Imperials are large, bulky, and are often not very agile). And of course, Orbit returns the favour by finishing off any monsters that Royale's blows were not enough to kill.

The Mirror knows that Orbit sees him simply as a clanmate and friend, but he harbours hopes that one day, if he ever gets the courage to confess, she will reveal her love for him as well.
