Artemis and her adoptive sisters were cast out from their home clans when they were hatchlings, and found one another sheltering in the Trickmurk Forest. None of them are sure of their hatchdates, but Artemis usually introduces herself as the middle sister, because of the positions they initially took when they were first forced to battle one another. That first battle was the start of a true sisterhood, as the three stuck together from there on out.
