Destined to lead the clan, Nightlock received a rude awakening when Lucifer joined the clan and demanded that he give up his power. Not wanting to cause trouble, Nightlock gave up his power quietly, allowing Lucifer to take over. He soon realized what a terrible mistake that was, having to watch as the clan he loved was destroyed by its own leader. Determined to make things right, Nightlock stepped up as a peacekeeper for the clan, and, with the help of the dragons still loyal to him, he keeps Lucifer on the (mostly) right path.

Of course, this job does not come without its trials. Nightlock prefers not to use any form of violence against other dragons, especially those from his clan; however, Lucifer, Toxic, and Apocalypse tend not to back down just because he asks them nicely. He has had to subdue the three with claws and fangs, often ending up being injured in the process. The fact that the three are out to kill him makes his job no easier, and he fears that once Apocalypse's son Renegade is old enough, he'll be after his life as well.
