★ MAGIC ★

Uh-oh, it looks like this forgetful old mage is running away from her home lair, (ArtisticDragonn, 197710), and now she's being tracked by bounty hunters for the important documents she possesses. If ever you feel the need to exalt, I would really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but I would be very grateful!

July 7th
*koff koff* As the smoke around me cleared, I realized I... was not in the Mirrorlight Promenade anymore...

...

...OH WELL. While strange and new to me, this place seemed rather diverse. On one side there's a tall, mysterious cliff. On the other is a wide and endless patch of green grass and a wind that blows without mercy but is kind of refreshing.

I check my bag and all my other possessions. Luckily, everything I had on me while reading was still on me.
...Gosh darn it, it really was a teleportation scroll! HAH! Unbelievable. The merchant actually was telling the truth.

Jokes aside, I don't remember how exactly do I teleport back. Huh. This might become a problem. Perhaps if I ask around as to where exactly I am, I'll be one step closer to returning. Let's try it on that lovely boy there. Oh, laddie! ...Yes, you! Wait one moment!

Update: This kind boy informed me I was in the Windswept Plateau. Sounds like a lovely place.

...WAIT A MINUTE. That's... That's a whole OCEAN away! It really is, I checked! Now how am I supposed to get back home?! All I've got on me is a bag with a map, some magical trinkets, some food and... And...
...Huh.
...I'm actually... I'm actually quite prepared, aren't I? Did my own mind play a trick on me? Am I so unreliable some other part of me took hold of my body and packed my bags for me?
...So many questions.

Update #2: I guess I'm now stuck here. I'm overturning rocks and looking for the local bug types out of sheer boredom.
...Alright, yes, I am also hungry.
Also, that boy keeps hanging around me. He just complimented the "marks" on my body. They're runes, boy, RUNES. MAGIC. Ugh. He also wanted to give me a flower earlier on. A hyacinth, I think. "It goes well with my eyes", he says. Ugh. Smooth, lad, real smooth, but I'm much too old for you, and I've had it with nests and hatchlings for a while. Better luck next time.

Best be on my way back, then, before I end up being wed to someone here or something. *shudder* I hope I'll find someone who knows more Magic *chuckle* than I do. Perhaps that someone can help me return home.

Well, I thought maybe reading the scroll again would return me back to my point of origin, but I appear to have ended up in some little town deep in the Shrieking Wilds... Red Tree or something... It appears that your destination when using this little scroll is completely random. How interesting...

At least the only thing waving a flower at me so far is a little Flower Nymph.

It's a nice cozy little town, nestled in amongst the trees, but I don't think this place is for me. It's too cramped, and the people... The Clan Leader is a nice guy but the family and the office are totally dysfunctional. And everyone here is into this weird natural healing, closer to Nature kind of magic that... I don't know, it just doesn't interest me.

I think it's time for me to move on. I could just journey home the normal way, but this scroll thing is actually kind of fun! I'm sure I'll get home eventually.

Ugh, I think a fungus hitched a ride in my bag...

Welp, I stumbled upon this strange skydancer, who mumbled that I was close to his clan's borders. I have no idea where I am, but I guess I'm staying in this secretive clan for the time being.

UPDATE #1 I'm settling in well, maybe a little too well. This lil bean has became a close friend. I guess I'm going to nest here for a while.

The clan is experiencing a severe food shortage. I would leave, but I don't think I've enough energy. Something else is making me stay though. I've grown attached to the dragons here...

March 1, 2019
With a tear in my eye, I bring out my scroll. I can't stay here anymore - the clan is struggling enough to make food go round. Ugh, I barely have any supplies for the journey, but this will have to do. I'll miss my friends here...

March 27, 2019
I simply can't believe it! Am I home? The light of the sun seemed so familiar that I couldn't help prancing around in joy. Mind you. I'm sure I would curse every dragon who saw me act this way. Of course, there was no around to amuse myself with. Sigh. That's simply too bad. Maybe another day.

After flying across the riverbank, I just had to notice that I was not home after all. True, I was in the Mirrorlight Promenade once more. Well, technically an island at the edge of the territory where the Moonlight Clan resided . However, I learned that my clan moved to The Hewn City. Why? I felt like cursing the trembling, young dragon who told me so, but her father and mother just had to be hovering protectively nearby. Of course, the Keeper had to be an excellent spell castor who is annoyingly silent all the time. Hmm... Telepathy. Ridiculous.

I hardly know what I was doing or saying, feeling such rage. Although I would rather join the ranks of the Lightweaver herself than admit it, I wasn't mad at any of them. I just wanted to be home. Opps, I might have challenged the Keeper to a duel of spells. Oh, well. I will just read this scroll over here, and arrive even farther away from home. No! Why did I do that? Well, too late now.

Strangely enough, I haven't travelled that far away. The Lightweaver must have pitied me, for I only found myself a few miles away. However, the scenery had completely changed, making the lair appear abandoned. I must have traveled far in time rather than place. I was just about to wonder why when I heard the sound of weeping.

It was young Bamboo, looking pitiful and small. I don't know why, but I agreed to return her home before I spoke more than one sentence. Perhaps she reminded me of my own little ones, hoping I would return home to them. It was strange what the heart can force you to do. In fact, we became fast friends, fighting through the forests back to back. I actually used my claws!

When we finally found our way to the Hewn City, I had half a mind to leave Bamboo behind. Still, we had grown so close to each other that I couldn't leave her behind. We glided through the fallen buildings to yet another island lit by the moon. Bamboo said that the moon must have guided her clan here, but I'm not so sure. There's something suspicious about these islands.

I just couldn't leave this clan behind! I had no reason to stay, yet I still lingered. Bamboo doesn't need me any more, but I'm beginning to suspect I need her. I even nested with this random dragon named Twilight. He showed me the stars so... Anyways, Bamboo's beginning to entreat me to go home. I know it will not be far away. Still, I feel miserable about leaving behind all the friends I made here. I suppose she's right. Now, I'll say this last word, "Goodbye."
