A N D R E A 🌃
 Night watcher...
tumblr_inline_nll486DWWx1qg2i5p_400.png Perched on a rooftop, claw digging into the stone and with eyes hardened on the horizon, sits the night watcher, Andrea.
At her side are bottles flickering with an eerie light that makes you squint, she swigs from it and you can see a faint glow trail down her throat as she does.
"Keep-awake potions." She explains.
Everything is still, the stars have started to poke out and below grasses nod in the light breeze and leaves flutter. The moon is looming and pale.
Andrea is wordless the entire night, you can see her pupils drift from east to west, north to south. Occasionally she turns around, she blinks a few times. Her breathing is steady and relaxed, yet her eyelids are cracked open like holes in smashed glass, there is a distant fear in them.

There is a crackle of leaf litter and her pupils dart to the source - just an opal cobra. She readjusts her wings, flapping them, before tucking them back her sides and shaking her mane out. She heaves a sigh and snorts. You feel the tension release in the air.
Owls flute and insects witter, her eyes are less wide now. She has finished her potions.
The first red fingers of dawn tinge the sky and she stretches turns around and heads back to her chamber. It is an open, airy room with a nest of blankets and pillows with plain patterns, as the bird start to sing she closes her eyes and falls asleep within minutes with a sunny spot passing over her head.
