Clover oversees all of the horticultural efforts of the clan, deciding what to grow and which areas to plant them in, all while considering the ecological balance of the area. He makes sure the clan doesn't negatively impact the environment.

He doesn't really get dragons and would much rather spend his time out in the forest or tending to the fields. He tolerates questions pertaining to his work, but doesn't see the point in small talk. So he comes across as abrasive and uncaring.

Finding his Charge had never been a priority (so he convinced himself) and he buried himself in work to keep the urge to find it at bay.

One day he found a baby Snapper curled up in a flower bed. The little cactus took a liking to him and started following him around. To Clover's horror, this little dragon was his Charge, no matter how he tried to deny it.

Eventually they learned to get along. Clover realised that for over a year everyone had just been calling him 'little cactus', and so named him Isaac.
