Clafoutis

Clafoutis doesn't remember much of his birth clan, or his flight. He remembers bursting through his egg, the soft chatter of a dragon as shell shards were picked from his mane. A sharp pain blossoming all over his sides, a rush of scales and leathery wings and furious screams that faded as he was carried far from the humid warmth of the Contagion to sharp icy winds that tore his breath from his chest.

He remembers awakening to darkness, the faint pink glow of Arcane eyes watching him. There were two imperials sharing the freezing cave with him. One who loomed over him with those awful eyes and told him to stay put before leaving to who knows where. The other lay still and silent near the back, laying atop soft silk and lavender. He curled up within her pink streaked dark scales that were so similar to his own, and did his best to ignore how cold she was, and the growing numbness that crept through him.

He remembers waking up to a ridgeback jostling his side. The ridgeback left the other imperial behind and carried him away despite how much he cried and begged for the imperial to be taken as well. When he awoke once more, he was in a clan. A skydancer fretted over stitches and bandages, and the ridgeback and a fae had fallen asleep coiled around him.

Nobody has been able to track down his birth clan, and so Clafoutis now calls Clan Dragonblight his home. Adopted and named by the ridgeback who rescued him and the fae who was her mate, Clafoutis is not quite aware of just how lucky an escape he had, nor does he realize the importance of his discovery. Shy and solitary, he seeks out his parents or Toast and Biscuits should he ever want company. Genevieve is incredibly protective of him - in fact, most everyone is for reasons beyond his understanding - and he is rarely allowed to go anywhere without some supervision. His resemblance to the long missing Flashdance has most everyone who remembers her, and her bond with the banished dragon Yselle, on edge. However, remembering the details of his kidnapping still causes him far too much pain to speak of it yet.
