Lavellan
Bone Priest
Caster of Bones Seer of Prophecy When dragons tell their hatchlings tales of magic and mystery, they usually begin with the tale of a dragon with no name, who wanders through the forests of all clans, though it is said that she was hatched at the edge of the sunbeam ruins. In her interactions with other dragons, they would call her "Lavellen" or friend, which she eventually adapted into Lavellan. Though she is a bone priestess, she is also able to cast spells full of light, and is a master herbalist. Foe this reason, many fear her, saying that she is a witch and will take their eggs and hatchlings into the forest, never to be seen again. Lavellan simply disregards these rumors In her wanderings, she took ill after a fight with a rather hostile clan of dragons, and was only saved when a small Squall Rasa guided her to the shores of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, where Cerberus' clan found her. She thought for sure she had imagined the Rasa, but found that, after she had been treated and recovered, it came back. She took it on as a familiar, a small friend to have in unfamiliar territory. The dragons of her new clan were welcoming, yet Lavellan did not warm up to them immediately. She longed to return to the forests, to hear the wind whistling through the trees. But, for reasons she couldn't quite understand, she stayed. Using her knowledge of herbs she taught the clan which plants, both on land and in the water, they could safely eat, or use for medicines. Eventually she settled in, using her magic to go with the native flight members when they dove for food and herbs. She taught the hatchlings to respect their magic, but to enjoy it, and the elders not to fear it. She eventually found a mate in Cullen, and the two began to open up more to their clan. Now, she documents and gathers herbs, as well as stocks the medical wards for the clan. Sometimes though, on bright, cloudless nights, a lone dragon can be seen wandering in the forests of the Tangled Wood and Sunbeam ruins, enjoying the cool night air and the smells of the forest. |
