The stranger arrived unexpected one night, and with him he brought a soul...

I have found something that must be returned, he had insisted, showing the lantern he carried to the dragon that guarded the lair's entrance. The lantern glowed softly, though no candle could be seen inside. The guard had inquired skeptically as to who it belonged to and where the stranger had found it, mentioning that they did not recognize the lantern as belonging to anyone in the clan.

"It does not belong to anyone, not anyone still alive, but I have come to return it. Your clan had lost it so long ago to the Scarred Wasteland....this is the Clan of the Calamity, yes?"

The guard's eyes widened at the mention of the name. The stranger was told to wait there and the guard disappeared into the lair. A few long moments later they returned, instructing the imperial to follow them inside to the clan leader's den.

Oddity wanted to speak with the stranger.

What exactly was said behind the door of that den remains unknown to everyone except Oddity and the stranger, whose name was later revealed to be Hugo. The lantern and how Hugo seemed to know so much about the clan's past, those too continue to be mysteries. There are still rumors, however.
