The go-to guy for all your battling needs. His den is structurally supported by spears, his pillows are made from the furs of vanquished foes, his wife spends a good hour everyday clearing away battle plans scribbled on parchment in order to get where she needs to go. Vin starts a friendly 'mock war' every now and then with neighbouring clans, just to test out his strategies. But when he's at home he just likes to play cards and pet cats.

He's actually seriously engaged in a real war at this moment, at the request of two fellow dragons (one of whom is MIA). He and Tatsuya lead the war from afar. A younger Vin would have considered it disgraceful for the general to not be on the battlefield. But there are circumstances, and if even the friend who went to the front line has fallen, then the two strategiests stand no chance. Call him a coward, but Vin understands what is truly important in his life.
