B I O G R A P H Y
Bloodied skies and shredded gold, a lord to ancient kingdoms of old...
Laughter echoes through the void, constantly changing pitch and bringing voice to demons inside the mind. A crimson Nocturne, curled tight in a ball as if from pain, shields his ears as best he can from the ringing noises around him. He lifts his head in fearful anger. “STOP THIS.” Immediately, the laughter ceases and is replaced by a low growl. Dark sand appears below, and the Nocturne crashes from the sky into the ground. Nothing else can be seen, only sand and darkness. Spitting out grains of darkness, the Nocturne spins his head around in circles, trying to find anything other than shadow. Off in the distance is an eerie, pulsating red glow, seemingly beckoning him to come closer. Whether it is a trap or safety he does not care, as long as it gets his royal butt out of there. "What is the meaning of this, where have you taken me? Is there something you want, demons?” Silence is the only thing that greets him. The glow doesn’t move from its sitting place in the void, so the dragon steps forward. |

"I will have you know, I am royalty. Is this a joke? Maybe you’ve kidnapped me? Perhaps you want a ransom. My guards could pay it, I’m sure, no matter how much it costs. Release me this instant,” he growls, and keeps moving in the direction of the light. When he reaches it, the flame flickers behind a large shadow. Curious, the Nocturne steps around the shadow to view it properly in the fire light.
The form is simply terrifying. Blood is spattered across a bare skull, covering an unknown face like a grisly mask. Flesh seems to drip from scales as a tail of bone whips back and forth behind the beast, almost in a playful manner. Put together, this thing is just on the edge of being too frightening to find cute. {Welcome to death, King Sonnith. I hope you enjoy it.} "WHAT IN BLAZES IS WRONG WITH MY HEAD TONIGHT!?!? Did I drink too much wine again? I must’ve drunk too much wine and passed out at the table. I’m probably just safe in my bed right now, my servants laying me in my plush fur blankets. And I’m having a really, really, really ridiculous dream. Right?” {Close. You did drink too much wine at the table. In fact, I dare say that’s exactly what caused this mess. You were poisoned, dipstick.} "NO ONE CALLS KING SONNITH NAMES. NO ONE.” The goblin beast narrows his eyes cheerfully, no doubt a grin spreading beneath his mask. {You are possibly the worst ruler in the history of dragonkind. Your servants loathed you with a burning passion, it was almost as if you were born to be hung by peasants and witches. Essentially, and pardon my language here, you are a massive pile of green goo.} Sonnith reels his head backwards at the goo insult. This beast was suggesting his leadership smelled of burnt rubber. "I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME NAMES.” He leaps at the bone beast, ready to bite his head off for treason. More laughter as the fire goes out and the dragon lands in sand. {You are no king, my friend. You are the fool of this story, and this time, the fool goes out with not a song, but a craze. Your mind shall stay here for a long, long time. Who knows what will take possession of your earthly body while you remain trapped in the dark… Oh, and by the way, my name is Jackyl. I’ll be keeping you company... sometimes.} “What are you suggesting, fiend?” Sonnith spits out a bit of sand with the remark, anger and frustration gleaming in his eyes. He stubbornly clings to the thought of all this being a very strange dream. {Bodies rot away, yet souls remain intact. Status remains as well, even hundreds of years after the fall. I’m going to leave for a few days, now. I’d like to go have some fun with your earthly vessel...} Again comes the ringing laughter, this time followed by a silence so absolute it drowns out any semblance of thought. |

B I O G R A P H Y
How long had it been since he last felt the warm rays of the sun? How long, since he could move his limbs in earnest, feel the ripple of every muscle, be aware of his own pulse? An eternity, it felt like. And the feelings still did not return... For the most part, but in the blink of an eye, there he was again, taking in the sights and sounds of the outside world. His decayed body stood motionless, poised for reverie, chalice in hand and surrounded only by the ruined remnants of an uncharted village, not a sign of life to be found.
Except, of course, for the writhing, twisting, hissing creature, whirling about by his side and ripping into fresh flesh. Sonnith slowly turns his head towards the beast, trying hard to process his new situation, and pulls back in shock, dropping his cup and bolting backwards a few feet, sending his body into an intense bout of consciousness that he hadn't felt in who knows how long. This mask-bearing creature turned to him, then, startled by the sudden movement. The voice that came from them was garbled and disorienting, and though there seemed to be words, Sonnith was as-yet unable to discern them while recovering from his post-oblivion stupor. "Who... are you!?" |
