Corsair

Alchemist | Cursed | Pearl-less

No one is quite sure where Corsair came from. He was found by Vivaira, lost in the forest with nothing but his pearl, and a pair of necromancy braces and amulet. He was lying on the ground, and wasn't moving. The clan was very curious about him, having never seen a dragon with a pattern like his. So they brought him into the clan to watch him.

At first, it was thought he had gone mad, because he kept mumbling to himself in a tongue no had heard before, and he didn't respond to the dragons speaking to him. He simply stayed curled in a ball, holding his pearl, which the clan soon discovered wasn't a pearl at all, but a wisp, contained in a glass ball. The Amulet he wore said Hex on it, along with some odd symbols. This concerned the clan's magic worker, Trebuchet, but he said nothing about it.

Three days after Corsair was brought into the clan, he suddenly recovered from whatever was driving him insane. The dragons questioned him on who was he? Where did he come from? Why was his pearl gone? Was his name Hex? What did the symbols on his amulet and braces mean?
Corsair claimed he had no memory of who he was, or where he was from. He said that he had never had a pearl, and no, his name wasn't Hex, it was Corsair, or something like that. He also said he had no idea what the symbols on his amulet meant, nor did he know why he had them.

Eventually the clan accepted he truly knew nothing, and offered for him to stay in the clan. He gladly accepted, and soon became a part of the clan. He showed a knack for alchemy, and became the clan Alchemist, collecting poisons, and chemical concoctions. It wasn't long however, before the dragons realized there was something very wrong with him.
Sometimes, for no apparent reason, he would suddenly convulse, and start chanting gibberish over and over, then he would start attacking his vials of poisons and chemicals, drinking the contents, and licking them off the floor. Often when this happened, black goo oozed from his maw.
Trebuchet, who had volunteered to be in charge of him, had to struggle to calm Corsair down, using spells to make him sleep.
Trebuchet was now convinced that the amulet was evil, and one day, had attempted to take it off Corsair, who responded with a violence that he had never shown before, spewing black goop, and attempting to bite Trebuchet.

Since then, Trebuchet has been studying Necromancy, in the hope that he can find a way to fix Corsair. Corsair still remaines a part of the clan, and is, for the most part, civil. The dragons enjoy him, regardless of his occasional fits, and try their best to treat him like any other dragon. Corsair is usually found in his lab, brewing up various concoctions to benefit the clan.
