Biography
The dust settled upon the soil, the nocturnal beauty sweeping the land dying the earth in a new pure colour. One of Moonlit beauty. As does the sun rise and fall so does the life of each dragon. The life to span across many centuries, to grasp the opportunities life creates by the claws painting a great legacy for all of the populace. To honour those whose time has set and to stride towards the future. Could it truly be accomplishable? A ridiculed proposal created by the mind of a single Snapper; Akaru. Commonly, amongst her clan, she would frequently wander away from matters that cast the attention’s public to her or allow herself to become engrossed in the day-to-day affairs of the tribe. A mystery to the tribe, whenever she was seen by her fellow comrades Akaru would always don a Snapper Skull. Many had wondered of the origins, of her most prized possession but the tale of its origination not one Akaru would dare classify as ‘Safe for the ears of the young’. Rarely confiding and only allowing one to hear her darkest secrets burrowed in her history from the day of her hatchling. A figure only she would openly feel the unknown emotion that had once been erased from all corners of her conscious become revived again: Asterion the elder.
Akaru rarely had happiness drawn in the pages of her past, from the day of birth. Her memories of her father dwindle with each falling sun and darkness of her mother’s intensify. Akaru’s mother had long resented her hatchling, for a simple but unalterable explanation; The colours of her scales. ‘Brown, chocolate and slate why would I ever want to call that my hatchling!?!’ Her mother frequently groaned as she despised any thought of spending time with her. Her father deeply adored his daughter, never holding illogical prejudice against his offspring. Tension would rise between the two parents, the conflicting prospect of the views of outer and inner appearances. To escalate into one conflict, the climax sacrificing the lives of both of her parents. Her mother’s body and soul was no longer a part of this reality, a single reminder being a pile of ashes and one bone. Her father’s was a single skull. In the depths of her sorrows, Akaru frantically rushed around the site in the hopes of locating the remains, when the message that her father had once taught her as a hatchling resonated:
Here in this land we are all connected, the batlings, dragons and all beyond. One day we all return to the earth, for the next to arrive.’
The beauty of his words allowed her to not only successfully locating 6 bones. Preserving and guarding them, a spark had been ignited. For the preservation and discovery of each piece of the past, whether bone or fossil whatever had lay deep in the soil would become the journey to her passion.
