HISTORY

At the beginning of a universe, there was nothing. And then time and fate awakened and gave a silver egg to the emptiness. The first crack on its shell sent a shiver through the infant cosmos and the second broke it open. From it came the first born, Phanes, intertwined with a serpent, bearing wings of gold and flame. This fire created everything and was the beginning of the entire universe. It is called the Flames of Creation and it was the heart of Phanes. From this egg also came Nyx, who's beauty was rivaled by no other. Together they created life and death, day and night, and birds (because why not). While the other gods created planets and suns and the emotions of the world, Phanes breathed life into every creature while Nyx extinguished that flame when its time was up. The cycle of life began to turn and they stood back to admire their handiwork once their mission from birth had been completed.

However, Phanes grew sad, watching life burn from afar and never being able to reach out and touch it. Nobody would ever know that either of them existed. Together, Phanes and Nyx watched many stories of life and death, followed many in their paths as they walked across the worlds. But it was never enough; Phanes wanted to live among them, not watch from afar. So Phanes handed over the crown that had been given by Fate to Nyx and shed the divinity granted by the universe itself, so that her consciousness could walk among mortals.

And so Phanes fell from her own universe to Sornieth and was hatched in a small corner of the Emberglow Hearth. The clan he was born into was small; only a few dragons. Not long after he was hatched, the leader, his father, decided that he was disbanding the clan and going to join the Flamecaller. Most of the clan followed him while the rest went their separate ways. Phanes, who remembered nothing of his divine life, decided to spend his time travelling. He eventually found himself at the edge of the ocean. Innocent and unaware of the dangers of his journey, he took flight, heading for the Southern Icefields. He nearly died on that flight, as he was young, inexperienced, and also a fire dragon over water. A storm just off the coast blew him off course and he was lost at sea for days, washing ashore on the Icefields, barely clinging to life.

Just as he was standing before Nyx, who looked at him with sad eyes, unwilling to breath out the life he had so desperately craved, a couple of Ridgebacks found him and saved his life. These two were Midnight and Fallen Angel and they took him back to their clan, Asida. Asimona allowed him into the clan and he was raised by the two that had found him. He learned from them compassion and mortality, the way to truly live a life and fill it with meaning. And, in Asida, he saw all the misery and sadness that had brought them together yet all the love and joy that they had created as one. And when Oriana came to the clan, when he looked into her eyes and saw Fate within them, he remembered who he'd once been. And while he never regained his divinity, nor did he want to reclaim it, he became more then mortal, living among Asida as a demigod.

Personality
Phanes is gentle and philosophical. Sometimes its hard to have a conversation with him because he may start talking about things that no one understands. He goes the scenic route when answering questions and very rarely does he willingly give out information, holding to the belief that everyone 'should learn for themselves'. Despite the strange air of distance others get from him, he's very friendly and is commonly mingling with the dragons of the clan. He's always very excited to get to know a stranger.

Cave
Phanes has a small cave near his Forge at the top of the lower mountain. There are small floating lanterns that are carrying a fire that is brighter and more pure then any fire ever seen before. Stepping in is rejuvinating and warms every nerve in the body. There's a small, pure gold birdstand where his firebird rests peacefully.

Magic
Phanes is one with the Flames of Creation, an incredibly powerful magic that, despite it being fire, is incapable of destruction. As a primordial being, he used it to create life across the desolate planets of the universe. As a mortal, however, he can no longer weild them in such a way. They are now simply flames filled with life and energy. He mainly uses it in his Firesmithing, which imbues his creations with magic and life, making them indestructible and masterful.

Role
Phanes is a Firesmith, the only one in the world (he invented the job). He is a blacksmith that can create almost anything out of any metal, imbuing it with his magical flames to become true masterpieces. He also helps the healers when they ask for his assistance. However, he doesn't use his skills often because of his hesitancy to bring the magic of gods into the mortal world.
