"Everyone deserves a chance" The Silverwind clan's reputation as a safe haven for all dragons stems primarily from Miri's actions. Shortly after settling down with her mate when the clan was a small, ragtag bunch of dragons who travelled from the Ashfall waste to begin a new life, she began to advocate for inclusion of dragons who wandered upon the clan. The original clan members, used to their old ways of secrecy and exclusion, took some getting used to the new idea but, as time went on and the clan expanded and borders grew it became a place of respite for any who wanted to sit for a while. While Ruston still does not allow the residence of Fire dragons in the clan, Miri always makes sure they are cared for on their way through. Miri is the most welcoming dragon around, always making sure every newcomer is settled in before letting anyone else near them. She is happy to provide for them while they are staying in the clan, or if they need anything to settle in permanently. Though she has a very nurturing side, she can also be quite outspoken when things need to get done, quickly taking over a room if no one else is in control. If a problem ever were to arouse, she becomes short with those around her until it is resolved. As the nest-mother, Miri acts as a sort of midwife to the dragons of the clan. When they are nesting, she is the one responsible for taking care of the eggs should the mother need time to step away, and she is the one to educate new mothers about the joys of raising hatchlings. After the new dragons hatch, she is often left on babysitting duties as their parents return to work in the clan. Her role then becomes the teacher, educating them about the world until their parents return in the evening. She now has help from her good friend Thallane as the clan started to grow at a pace she could not keep up with alone. |
