To know where one is going, first one must know where one starts.

PERSONALITY

A strong, steady individual, Helios settled with the clan when relatively young and rarely talks about his life before joining them. Despite this, he's relied on and trusted, as he's a deeply consistent individual with a great degree of patience - with one exception; his daughter Biblis. Nonetheless, his work is stellar due to his patience, allowing him a perfect precision in his maps and plans that make them clear and easy to follow.

BIOGRAPHY

Quite where, exactly, Helios came from, no one in the clan knows (except, perhaps, for Alectrona). Born to Ice but well-travelled especially in Wind, Helios came to the clan already world-weary and mourning the loss of at least one sibling. Certainly, he had not expected to settle down, if his prior wanderlust had been anything to go by - but something about Tethys and Telchine's rugged determination to survive in the cleft of land they'd claimed stuck with him, and he joined the nascent clan despite himself.

He was big and strong - bigger, if not longer, even than Telchine - and in the early days he hauled what needed hauling, carried what needed carrying, moved what needed moving... but the clan grew, and Helios knew what happened then.

"You need to organise things," he said to Tethys after one especially large addition. "If you don't, it'll descend into infighting; I've seen it happen more times than I can count."

And, unlike others Helios had tried to warn, Tethys listened. Telchine took on logistics, Tethys trade and diplomacy, her close friend Alectrona took on a great deal of administration, and Helios found himself being given leave to indulge what little lingering wanderlust he retained:

"After all," Telchine told him, "If we're to make this last, we should know all we have to hand."

And so, across years and a great deal of work, the clan of Tethys grew and thrived, and Helios settled into place as cartographer and occasional architect, talking more to Alectrona of any of them as the clan's needs grew and changed.

"We'll make it work," was her catchphrase - and hells if she didn't always manage it. Helios couldn't help his admiration - listening just as Tethys did, noticing troubles and nipping them in the bud. She was just the dragon he'd always hoped to meet.

It was perhaps unsurprising when he first presented her with a bouquet and his intentions. What did surprise him was how warmly she responded.

"Lets," she said.

Far from each other's first partners, these two came together slowly over time. Always gentle with each other, they are known for how doting they are.

Nergal | Close Friend
When Helios plans new cavern expansions for the clan, he always speaks to Nergal regarding feasibility. The two are close friends, and have been for years.

Biblis | Estranged Daughter
Born of a partnership before Helios met Alectrona, Biblis and her father clash often, and work as far apart as feasible.

Found, claimed, and carved out of the very ground, the clan of Tethys has crafted their environment to suit and supply every member, from cold-bloodied herbivores to hot-blooded piscivores. Non-natives to fire can find, in the clan's territory, places which might remind them of home, and it is Helios' duty to record and recount every detail.
